Letter From The Director
WELCOME TO THE ROCKLEDGE HIGH SCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAMMy name is Paul E. Bryant, and I am your child’s high school band and orchestra director. As director, I plan to challenge each student, and to help him/her reach his/her greatest potential through music.
The high school music experience is a unique one and one that each student will surely enjoy. Marching Band, Concert Band, and Orchestra provide many opportunities for the type of musical enrichment and personal development that can only be found at the high school level. Students get the opportunity to perform, to travel, and to be a part of something exceptional. Rockledge offers many options for the student who chooses to be part of our outstanding program.
In addition to the many educational and cultural benefits, students grow both socially and emotionally through music. In schools today, students face new situations. You will be happy to know that the music program will be a place where they will feel accepted. It will be comforting to have a large group of friends with whom they will share many positive experiences.
The music program offers a chance for the development of leadership skills. Communication skills are stressed, along with group management, goal setting, time management, and other valuable skills and strategies that help to increase the students’ self-confidence and self- image.
The Rockledge music program is truly “one of a kind”. I feel strongly that every student should be given a positive environment in which to achieve. Together we can make it happen!
